Sociedade Central de Cervejas e Bebidas (SCC) was established in 1934 with the aim of consolidating several existing breweries in Portugal. In 1940, SCC introduced Sagres as a premium beer to represent the company at the Portuguese World Exhibition. Named after the town of Sagres, located at the southwestern tip of Europe, the beer embodies the spirit of exploration and tradition. Over the decades, Sagres has expanded its reach beyond Portugal, becoming a beloved brand among Portuguese communities worldwide. In 2008, SCC became part of the Heineken Group, further enhancing its global presence.
