Founded in 2003 by childhood friends John O’Connell, Ger McCarthy, and Denis McCarthy, West Cork Distillers has grown from humble beginnings to become a leader in the Irish whiskey industry. Their commitment to using local ingredients and innovative ageing processes has set them apart as one of the top Irish whiskey brands.

Product Details:

This Single Malt whiskey is meticulously crafted using 100% local Irish grain. It is initially matured for four years in Bodega Oloroso casks from the Tolerina Rodriguez bodega in Cadiz, Spain. These casks impart rich, complex flavours to the whiskey. Following this, the whiskey is transferred to first-fill Bourbon Barrels for an additional three years, adding layers of vanilla, oak, and subtle spice. The final product is bottled at an impressive 46% ABV, offering a robust and nuanced tasting experience.

Producer History:

West Cork Distillers started in a small room at the back of Denis' house in Union Hall. Despite the economic challenges, their passion for creating high-quality Irish whiskeys led them to success. In 2014, they moved to a new facility in Skibbereen, expanding their operations significantly. Today, the distillery operates on a 12.5-acre site on Marsh Road, with a distillation capacity of 4 million litres of pure alcohol. West Cork Distillers' products are now sold in nearly 70 countries, reflecting their global reach and reputation for excellence.
