Brehon Brewhouse, nestled amongst the rolling drumlins of Patrick Kavanagh country in County Monaghan, brings to you the "Stony Grey IPA". This beer is not just a drink but a tribute to the land that has inspired countless tales and poems, especially "The Stony Grey Soil of Monaghan" by Patrick Kavanagh. The same soil that shaped the poet's life and lessons has inspired this unique IPA.

Open since April 2014, Brehon Brewhouse is a true farmhouse brewery, located right on their farm outside of Carrickmacross. Owners Seamus and Siobhán McMahon have a simple ambition: to produce distinctive beers that reflect the trend towards craft and artisan products. Their emphasis on pairing beer with food comes from their head brewer Phil Bizzell, who has a special interest in beer and food matching.

The "Stony Grey IPA" stands out with its cloudy golden orange hue. It's not just the colour that's captivating but also the aroma. Unlike many IPAs that blast you with piney hops, this one starts with a sweet bubblegum and fruit scent, gradually introducing more grassy and cedar notes. There's even a hint of talcum powder.
