Producer Background
Western Herd Brewing Co. was founded by brother-and-sister duo Michael Eustace and Maeve Sheridan on their family’s farm near Ennis, County Clare. The brewery stands in a picturesque shed built over 80 years ago by their great-grandfather, now home to a 16-hectolitre brew kettle and tanks capable of producing over 350,000 pints a year. Their vision was simple: to bottle the magic of the land they grew up on.
Michael, an engineer-turned-bar-manager, saw first-hand how craft beer was evolving in Ireland and returned to his home-brewing roots. Maeve, a former finance professional, developed a passion for Belgian and German beer styles while working in Luxembourg – experience that now shapes the brand’s distinct European edge. Together, they launched Western Herd to showcase bold, flavour-forward beers with real Clare character.
They’re joined by Montana-born brewer Bridger Kelleher, whose instinctive hop combinations and flavour-driven approach have shaped the brewery’s adventurous core and seasonal releases. The brewery specialises in hop-forward beers and mixed styles that embody the charm of their wild coastal location. Whether it’s a crisp lager or a juicy pale ale, each release reflects their commitment to craftsmanship, sustainability, and staying true to their roots.
