About the Brewery
Founded in 1383, Löwenbräu is one of Munich’s oldest breweries and one of the six authorised to serve beer at Oktoberfest. The name means “Lion’s Brew,” and the iconic lion emblem has become a symbol of Bavarian pride and quality. Löwenbräu’s beers are brewed according to the Reinheitsgebot — the German Beer Purity Law of 1516 — using only malt, hops, yeast, and water.
