About the Brewery
Brouwerij Huyghe is a family-owned Belgian brewery located in Melle, near Ghent in East Flanders.
Although brewing has taken place in the area for centuries, the Huyghe family's involvement began in 1906, when Léon Huyghe acquired an existing brewery.
Over successive generations, the family developed the brewery and expanded its range of Belgian speciality beers.
The brewery became internationally recognised following the introduction of Delirium Tremens in 1989.
With its distinctive pink elephant branding and expressive strong golden ale character, Delirium Tremens became the flagship beer of the Delirium family.
The range subsequently expanded to explore other Belgian beer styles.
Delirium Nocturnum was introduced in 1999, offering a darker and more malt-focused alternative to Tremens.
Delirium Red followed in 2010, introducing cherry flavours and a sweet-and-sour character to the collection.
Delirium Argentum was created in 2014 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Delirium Tremens. Its amber Belgian IPA style introduced a more pronounced hop character to the range.
