About Waterford Whisky

Waterford Whisky is an Irish distillery known for its innovative approach to whisky production, blending modern technology with traditional techniques. Situated in the South-East of Ireland in the city of Waterford, the distillery occupies a former Guinness brewery site which was transformed into a state-of-the-art distilling facility in 2014.

The brand is renowned for its "terroir-driven" ethos, believing in the importance of provenance and that the flavour of whisky can be influenced by the place where its barley is grown. Each batch of Waterford whisky is single farm origin, meaning the barley used is sourced from one individual farm, giving each expression a unique character and taste.

In the quest for transparency, Waterford provides a TÉIREOIR code on each bottle which allows customers to trace the whisky's journey from field to bottle. By entering the code on their website, you can discover detailed information about the farm, the farmer, the harvest, the distillation and the maturation process.

Overseen by master distiller Ned Gahan, Waterford Whisky is dedicated to the pursuit of exceptional quality. The distillery utilises a combination of traditional copper pot stills and modern distilling technology to create their unique whiskies. Each expression is carefully matured in a variety of cask types for a nuanced flavour profile.

Waterford's commitment to quality and provenance has earned it a burgeoning reputation amongst whisky enthusiasts worldwide. This progressive distillery exemplifies a new wave of Irish whiskies, meticulously crafted and rich with character.
