Producer Background
Founded in 2011 by Mario Hanel and Timm Schnigula, Crew Republic began with a rebellious spirit and a mission to challenge Germany’s beer status quo. Dissatisfied with the limitations of the Reinheitsgebot (Germany’s beer purity law), the Munich-based duo started brewing bold American-style IPAs and modern takes on classic styles that were virtually unavailable in the German market at the time.
Since those early days, Crew Republic has become a flagship of Germany’s craft beer revolution. The brewery has expanded from a garage setup to a fully equipped brewhouse in Unterschleißheim near Munich, now producing a diverse range of beers that include their award-winning Drunken Sailor IPA, Roundhouse Kick Imperial Stout, and Foundation 11 Pale Ale. Despite growing success, the team remains fiercely independent, brewing all their beer in-house and refusing to compromise on quality or flavour.
