Nestled in the picturesque town of Ettal, Bavaria, Benediktiner Weissbräu GmbH represents the idyllic home of the first Benedictine beer brewery. The brewery, steeped in the calm of the mountain air, 877 metres above sea level, has been the sanctuary of Benedictine monks for over 600 years. Their way of life, characterised by care and respect, not only informs their day-to-day activities but also inspires their brewing style. The beers, a blend of original Benedictine recipes and special brewing yeast from Ettal, are carefully brewed in partnership between Bitburger Brewery Group and Benediktiner Weissbräu GmbH, under license in the town of Lich. Both master brewers and monks oversee the process, tasting the beer from their monastery chalices to ensure quality. Today, Benediktiner beer is cherished in more than 50 countries worldwide.

Tasting Notes:

Benediktiner Hell is a celebration of Bavarian brewing at its finest. The beer pours a golden yellow, crystal clear with a white foam head consisting of extra-fine bubbles. The aroma is a delicate symphony of sweet, fruity, and bittersweet notes, featuring light honey, ripe cereal grains, yellow apples, and hops. On the palate, the beer delights with its delicate effervescence, a malty sweetness, and gentle notes of hops creating a special mouthfeel. The aftertaste is pleasantly hoppy, and fruity notes of apples, along with hints of aromatic mountain herbs, intensify the flavour profile. Benediktiner Hell offers an intensely enjoyable taste that is the perfect companion to a cozy evening or a lively gathering.
